Education Volunteers

Education Volunteers

Imagine the look on a student's face as he dons the uniform of a Union officer and plots his strategy. Imagine the joy of the aspiring politician as she takes action as President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Now imagine that you can help make such scenes a reality and bring American history to life.

America's Freedom Center is seeking educators to assist in developing content for the Center and the educational outreach programs. Volunteers will help to create new learning experiences that will help students to better understand the meaning and role of freedom throughout our nation's history. Become involved by submitting lesson plans and curricula or join the AFC Education Think Tank.

Submitting Lesson Plans
America's Freedom Center is dedicated to enhancing this website's value to educators and students. One way this will be accomplished is by providing educational content such as lesson plans, advice and interactive acitivities.

At this time, AFC is collecting teacher-created lesson plans that will be accessible to other educators via the website. If you have a time-tested idea that past students have enjoyed or a creative new idea that you believe will flourish, we encourage you to submit the plan for inclusion in the AFC electronic catalog. Your fellow educators and their students will benefit from your ideas.

We are seeking creative, standards-based lessons and activities that help to teach the concept of freedom and the historical topic associated with America's freedom. If you are interested in submitting a lesson plan or would like additional information, please contact America's Freedom Center Foundation at 414.727.2744 or education@americasfreedomcenter.org.

Join the Education Think Tank
The America's Freedom Center Education Think Tank is a group of teachers and professionals that meets to brainstorm ideas for the Education Center. Additional educators are invited to lend their creativity to this group as it creates curricular materials for America's Freedom Center. To express interest in the Education Think Tank, you may contact America's Freedom Center at 414.727.2744 or education@americasfreedomcenter.org.
